THE ROLE OF PESANTREN MA’HADAL ULUM DINIYYAH ISLAMIYYAH(MUDI) SAMALANGA IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION TO FACE THE CHALLENGES OF THE ERA OF GLOBALIZATION
Abstract
The purpose of this study is (1) to find out the learning methods and processes in Ma’hadal Ulum Diniyyah islamiyyah Samalanga In facing the challenges of the times, (2) to identify supporting and inhibiting factors for learning in Islamic boarding schools Ma’hadal Ulum Diniyyah islamiyyah Samalanga. In accordance with the problem and research objectives, this study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection uses interview and observation methods. These three techniques provide the necessary data and information and can support and complement each other. Observation was carried out directly during teaching activities at Islamic boarding schools. Interviews were conducted with various stakeholders such as students, Islamic boarding school administrators and teaching staff, as well as with related parties who are former graduates of Islamic schools Ma’hadal Ulum Diniyyah islamiyyah Samalanga. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it shows that (1) the method applied in the pesantren is to study the classic book (turats) for three years, after which it is allowed to enter formal undergraduate and postgraduate and informal courses, namely Ma’had Aly which also offers undergraduate and postgraduate. (2) The obstacles faced are the lack of teaching facilities and infrastructure, the lack of donors to finance the management of Islamic boarding schools, and the relatively low level of education financing provided by students to Islamic boarding schools. (3) favorable factors: Open dormitory management, dynamic and quality teaching resources, strategic location of the dormitory and highly suitable and competent teachers.
